Traditional Cleaning Methods

At S&D we believe that the most time effective way to clean a house is by hand, due to their smaller size in comparison with commercial buildings.

Our cleaners will put a ladder up, check the safety and then proceed to clean your windows by hand using a sponge, before wiping the excess off with a rubber blade, ensuring a streak-free finish.

This is also the method of cleaning used by S&D for internal window cleaning, both domestically and commercially, as it does not run the same risks as using the Reach and Wash system indoors, and enables our cleaners to get closer to the windows whilst inside.

Also with regards to safety, all S&D have a safety policy that must be adhered to at all times, particularly when on a ladder, or working at height (for example, whilst standing on a roof whilst cleaning windows).

Reach & Wash Cleaning Method

Everyone has the right to work safely, and that includes window cleaners. For decades, work at height was simply accepted as an occupational hazard of the window cleaning industry, However, Reach & Wash systems allow windows to be cleaned from the safety of the ground using telescopic poles.

A soft bristled brush is used to scrub the dirt off the glass, while jets of pure water rinse the window. The pure water, as it has no impurities, dries to a spot-free finish leaving no marks behind. Using The Reach & Wash system, modern window cleaning is no longer the dangerous job it once was.

Safety is the most important benefit of the Reach & Wash system. Reach & Wash can clean up to a height of 80ft, which is beyond the reach of ladders, and is much safer, as no harnesses, cherry pickers or other machinery.
